This is a very nice Winchester military model 1917. There is no rust or pits in the metal. The barrel looks like a new and is probably a Centurion from CMP. It is nicely blued and has six lands and is bright and shinny. It shows no wear in the riflings and it has a target crown at the end of the barrel. The receiver has no pits or rust and has a darker parkerizing. The extracted has been jeweled at one time but is not damaged. The wood is very nicely finished with only a few dents under the formed which can easily be sanded out. The stock has no splits or cracks and is very solid. Some of the markings on the gun are the front site (R) the front band (E). The site and slide are marked (W). The bolt handle is marked (R) with a bomb. The striker is marked (W) with a bomb. The receiver top is marked US model 1917 Winchester 348682. The receiver rail has a bomb on the left rail and a partial bomb on top.
